Meet the Dean

Dr. Peter Folliard is the inaugural dean of the School of Music. Folliard, a New Jersey native, joined Augustana in 2017 as the conductor of the Augustana Orchestra. 

Folliard holds undergraduate degrees in music education and instrumental performance from the University of North Texas; master’s degrees in instrumental performance and conducting from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University; and a doctor of musical arts degree in orchestral conducting from the Eastman School of Music.

In collaboration with Campus Ministry, the Augustana School of Music (SoM) invites the public to join the university community for its 2023 Christmas Vespers  Concert, “And a little child shall lead them" on Friday, Dec. 1, and Saturday, Dec. 2. For more information and how to purchase tickets, visit wikiwagsdisposables.com/vespers.

Presented by the Promising Futures Fund, Augustana University is excited to announce that its School of Music (SoM) will host the 2023 Middle School Choral Festival at 7 p.m. on Oct. 23, in the Mary W. Sommervold Hall at the Washington Pavilion. The Ben Reifel, George McGovern and Whittier Middle Schools choirs will join Augustana choirs for an unforgettable choral experience.
